Toronto, Ontario, Canada
In November, 2025, we installed 50 artworks in two locations at University Health Network (UHN)’s Toronto General Hospital (TGH): Unit 6PMB (Thoracic Surgery and Respirology Unit) and Unit 9ES (General Surgery and Acute Care Inpatient Unit). Forty-four of the images were by Canadian photographer Sherman Hines and six were donated by staff from TGH. As previously, AWFC supporter Posterjack developed the presentation of these images using a refined metal print process. The images are rendered in large format and crisp resolution, and because they are placed on metal, this makes it easy to clean and maintain them, so important in these sensitive facilities.

In November, 2023, we installed 24 artworks at the Surgical Oncology unit of University Health Network (UHN)’s Toronto General Hospital. All of the artworks were iconic photographs by Canadian photographer Sherman Hines. Posterjack, an ArtWorks for Cancer supporter, was instrumental in creating the presentation of these images using a refined metal print process. Not only are the images rendered in large format and crisp resolution, but they are placed on metal, which makes them easy to clean and maintain, a particularly important requirement in this sensitive facility.
